Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko competes as a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. She is also the older sister of former UFC Flyweight champ and fellow UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko, who is a Muay Thai boxer started her professional fight career during her first IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won this tournament with a unanimous victory over Suzane Miller. Antonina kept her winning streak going by getting bronze and silver medal in 2008 and 2007 respectively, and a gold medal in 2011 as well as the 2016 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia began her professional career in 2003, and she was the winner of the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016, and also the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's final fight was with Isa Tidblad Keskikangas at Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Schevchenko set her professional MMA records in 2002, when she took on Anara Bazanova during the KFK Championship of Kyrgystan. She went 3-0, after winning the second-round TKO. The following two fights were won at WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003. Shevchenko committed herself to kickboxing as she took a prolonged break from MMA. She was back to fight in 2017 and faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko had the chance to beat Anissa in a unanimous decision and beat Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in the year 2017. She left in 2018 the contest and started participating in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko defeated Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina knocked out Nievera using her striking skills that were superior during the clinch final round through knees to the body. Following this victory, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko won the fight via unanimous decision but lost her next fight against Roxanne Modafferi by split decision. Antonina bounced right back after the defeat and beat Lucie Puddilova in UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submissions in the 2nd round. The fight was awarded Antonina the Fight of the Night bonus. Shevchenko was 1-2 over the next three fights. She defeated Ariane Lipski but lost to Katlyn Chokagian as well as Andrea Lee. Recently Antonina lost to Casey O'Neill at UFC Fight Night Santos against. Walker via second-round TKO.
